RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Very happy with Hallmark during the whole order and customizing phase.

They are great folks and superb to work with. Glad that you had a great experience and a very nice camper.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Jeep is gone... Duramax GMC Canyon took her place.

LOL... you don’t see “bogans” referred to much on WTW, but it’s a perfect descriptor.

CanadianViking, I have a Guanella and have to remove the tailgate on my RAM 2500 long box.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Propane in Camper

Might help if you clarify the question czukie. Are you talking about storing your propane tank inside the camper or using a propane device inside the camper?

    Very nice, @lgottasail. Merry Christmas!

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Thoughts on securing fresh water drain from mischievous hands.

While I mostly use the tank water for washing dishes, showering and spraying down the dog, I placed a valve interal to the camper to preclude any inadvertant draining... either by mistake or malicious intent. Very easy to do.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Anyone had their Hallmark reroofed?

I have a 2004 Guanella that was reroofed by a previous owner with their carbon roof. Works just fine and I’m happy someone else paid for it. It was a strong selling point for me.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West 2003 Hallmark Guanella LX refresh

Thomas, For your consideration. My camper came with the old Heco lift mechanism and I had Hallmark install their updated system which uses a Bombardier aircraft flap jack screw. I simply use a battery-powered drill to lift and lower. You can start and stop the lift at any point, unlike the...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Hallmark to start offering flatbed campers

I agree completely, rando, but their roof lift design makes that difficult since the torque tube runs right across where you would want a side door. I may still stop by the shop and check it out.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Hallmark to start offering flatbed campers

DrJ, did they offer a side door entry and did they place the dinette in the back? TIA

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Hallmark to start offering flatbed campers

Interesting. I asked Matt if they intended to build a flatbed two years ago and he said “No”. Hope this works out. Structurally, it makes more sense to have the load carried directly to the floor; particularly for an off road camper. Might have to sell the old Guanella if this comes to pass...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West What's your favorite camp chair?

That's a shame... "navy" is actually the "stylish" color. At least it is for me ; ) Hope that you like it, WS. The first time putting it together might feel a little tight, but it sets in real nice and gets easier after that first go. The extensions are paired as two different sizes, which...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Hallmark Solar Wiring

I tried to upload photos, but failed miserably. The monitor and controller are mounted on the aft end of the driver's side upper cabinet. There is a false wall inside the cabinet that covers the wiring from those units. The cables run through the wall side of the cabinet to the upper torque...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Anybody using Discada, Carolina Cooker, Tembo Tusk Skottle, etc

I'd be interested to hear how that works out, Stalking Light. Even with the wind screen, that Coleman will blow out at the lowest setting.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Anybody using Discada, Carolina Cooker, Tembo Tusk Skottle, etc

I read on Ex Po Forum that some folks were trying that and getting good results. I'll have to give it try next time. I'm actively trying to lose the "Dinner Burning" competition, XJINTX, lol.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West What's your favorite camp chair?

Kermit Chair with extensions. Packs pretty small, easy to set up (no tools) and very comfortable. The extensions help if you are tall, suffer from knee issues or you just want to sit at a normal height camp table for dinner. They make a wide version, if you need more room.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Anybody using Discada, Carolina Cooker, Tembo Tusk Skottle, etc

Munchmeister, I have a Skottle and agree with Stalking Light. It does take a little practice to figure out how to best cook with it as it does get quite hot directly above the heat source. Of course, I have mad skills... I can burn almost anything while cooking.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Airstream 16ft Basecamp

We took a look at several Airstream Trailers last year, to include the Basecamp. I too preferred the Bambi over the Basecamp, but I don't believe that I represent the market demographic that Airstream is targeting with the Basecamp. We intend to stick with the truck camper for the time being.

Sorry, I thought you were considering air bags. If you have already mounted air bags, Timbrens are not your answer.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Outdoor camping table? Suggestions/Recommendations?

I purchased an Alps roll up table many moons ago. Not super stable and I broke one of the plastic nibs that holds it together. I will still take it on trips if I plan to use more table space. Picked up a Snow Peak IGT and their little side table. Made my own table inserts for the IGT and it...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Rear turnbuckle mount failure on Hallmark Guanella

DoGMAtix, Have you considered Timbrens? They are dirt simple. When my Guanella is off the truck, there is no contact and the truck rides as stock. When I load the truck with either the camper or a heavy bulk load, they start to come into play. I got these instead of airbags since I really...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West So we're going to the Hallmark factory...

X2 - I was up there talking to Andy a few weeks ago and he mentioned that they will discount a camper build to keep the employees 'employed'. Apparently, they get deluged with orders in the spring for some reason... BTW, should you go with a Hallmark, I would strongly recommend their new lift...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West 2014 FWC Hawk - Water tastes like plastic....?

I'm with Stalking Light on this one. Have you changed the way you fill the tank? Different hose? Different hose bib? Did you do the mutiple flushes for a reason? If you're on a short timeline for your trip you could throw a Brita pitcher in the camper and sort it out when you get back. If...
