RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West new truck, new suspension plan

I have seen some other photos of this. Are the metal plates a kit or home fabricated? Would you weld this yourself or have someone weld it for you? I looked at the weights last night. The sticker says 1299 lbs :-) including propane and 20 gal water (the tank and the water heater tank). So...

thanks for the reply neighbor. Your post is very helpful. Depending on your options, that eagle could be half the weight of the phoenix. It sounds like you had just about the same experience as I did with airbags alone. They were at 80 - 100 psi on the nissan. I did nothing to the front...

I just got a "new to me" used 97 tacoma ext cab v6 automatic 4wd. This is to replace my 94 4cyl 4wd nissan hardbody. With the auto trans, now my wife will have a much easier time using the truck. The v6 should be better pulling the weight than thrashing that 4cyl. Last summer, i ran out of...

We were at Bowman last september it was nice.We went over labor day weekend wasn't very crowded .The road isn't that bad a lot of dust. Take the outside road from the park to polebridge saves some time and not as much dirt. Nice place, quiet and some good fishing at granite lake about an hour...

Oly- I doubt you'll find many people around Bowman. There is also a loop around Hungry Horse reservoir that's very nice, mostly dirt but better than Bowman Road. The farther you get back in, the less the people especially during the week. I've not been there but there are campgrounds past...

I very much like Bowman Lake CG, about 35 mi north of the Apgar Village section of Glacier. It's part of the park but a very rough 6 mile road in (figure ~ 30 min) keeps the number of people down. If you're up there be sure and stop at the Polebridge Bakery. I posted some pix of Bowman and...

Hey guys, it's been a long time since I've posted here, but I'm finally getting a good trip together so I can use my camper! Since leaving Bozeman in April of 2008 and moving to the Seattle area, life has been a bit crazy. Aside from a few weekend trips, I've only used my camper a handful of...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Anyone converting their trucks to hydrogen?

Been reading on the Internet about homemade kits that boost gas mileage as much as 75 percent. Any forum members doing this? Mileage on my '06 Tacoma was 22 mpg on our trip to the factory to pick up our Eagle shell. Now I routinely get about 15-16 depending on wind, etc. Converting water into...

Well, I've had a great time in Montana, but the time has come for me to be wandering west (literally). I grew up in the Seattle area and came out this way to go to college. In that time I managed to get an internship with a local company that turned into a full time career. I've been working...

Oly, Great pics! Thanks for sharing. I also like your leveling stones. I always leave home without them! I usually find a level place, but if I can't get it just right, I'll utilize good ol' mother earth.

Alex, I have these tires: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Winterforce&tireModel=M%2BS I should update my sig because they are 265/70/R16's and not the 255/85/R16's. However, I will be buying another set of 255/85/R16's once it thaws here, most likely BFG MT's. Marc, I have not...

You'll also notice a new bumper and lights. I ended up getting a TJM bumper (winch coming soon) and some lightforce 240's w/ HID bulbs. The bumper is awesome, but the lights are unreal! Got to try them out last night and it's simply amazing how bright they are. I'll get some pictures sometime...
