RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Safety wire?

If I'm not mistaken, The stock turnbuckels are aluminum and the hooks are steel. If this is true thats probably the start of the trouble your all having. With the happijack that I'm using, there was a bit of loosening on washboard but with the locknut it's contained. Really just a case of...

I have an engel45 and love it. I use it in the jeep and the power draw is quite low. A way of monitering the temp is needed. I got a wireless indoor outdoor unit from camping world. I havn't used it in the camper so I can't answer that, but 2 years of bouncing in the jeep and no problem at...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Awning question

IMHO leaving your jacks on while in the back country multiplies the likely hood of being in harms way. You wouldn't be the firs person to tear out a corner of the camper because of a jack hitting some obstruction. I mounted my awning legs on the jack brackets. It's quite simple and only...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Awning question

I'm trying to come up with a way to mount the awning legs to the jack tubes. Thinking they will be in "harms way" on the trail so they should be easily removeable. I think mounting the foot brackets to the camper sides will not work out as well as the jacks (less stable) Quick fists come to...

Mark We did make it to China Garden Spring. We didn't camp there but did spend an hour or so checking it and the area out. It's kinda strange to see gold fish in a desert spring. Might have expected pup fish. Then headed off toward Butterbrett Spring camping on the way near bird spring pass.

EdoHart Yes 3 days before the trip I picked it up. It did come that way. We love it. The space improvment is huge! We left at about 7:30 on the walk and returned about 12:00. Must have been a 20 deg. diff at the water. When we got out of the canyon the wind had come up and the hot springs...

Yes, the flush mounted cooktop and sink are upgrade options. When you get those the countertop changes as well to the 2 color (white on the edge) The fridge is also an upgrade. All electric 12 volt / 110. No propane. I've had an engel and love the simplicity of not worring about the flame...

Les Saline was great. Not much in the way of flowers but a great trip none the less. I thought about taking the jacks off. We kept a close eye on them at all the tight spots. I had wrenches if they needed to come off to clear an obstical. I really like being able to put the jacks down at...

We just returned from the 1st shakedown trip and must report everyting was great. We just love our new setup. It's hard to believe when standing outside haw much comfort is packed inside. The new cooktop and sink are great, and having a flat countertop is a huge improvement. The seating is...

Has anyone used (thought about)a Halotron Extinguisher? http://www.safetekusa.com/shopping/Halotron-I-Fire-Extinguishers-P1206.aspx[/URL] The idea of using a powder extinguisher has always seemed like a last resort due to the powder residue. I know a mess of powder is better than a torched...

I'll say x2 to craig33... We don't have the nicest camper, no doubt. We do have the most practical one. I will never never ever have a truck with an overweight camper again. That lesson was just too painful to learn. The capacity on all of our trucks are ON paved / smooth road rating. That is...

Scott I will be off road a lot also. I will keep you posted on how my setup works. I just got off the phone with Chicali @ FWC and my camper should be finished mid next week. I think then we'll be heading to Death Valley NP the week of the 22nd. Planning on putting things to the washboard test.
