RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West OSUFlyers Slow Keystone Remodel / Rebuild

OSU, you may want to verify the required amperage for the Morningstar controller. I just installed a Renogy 200W (2- 100 watt) and they supplied a 30 amp controller. If you calculate the amps (200 divided by 12 is 16.66 amps.) it indicates it is right off going to be over 15 amps and no cushion...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Over-the-cab external plastic trim

Mine got all dried out and hard being exposed to the elements since 1983. I ordered new 1" heavy duty insert trim from Amazon. I tried the standard trim and it did not fit into the mounting very well at all. Just another option I found.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Full build - Reconstructing a 1981 Grandby into a custom Hawk!

Nice build pokyBro. I am slowly trying to bring a 1983 Keystone back to life. I narrowed the floor pack, made a slide out for the bed, rebuilt the front lift panel, added a fantastic fan (best thing I did), and a few other necessities so it was useable, and now I would much rather use it than...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Pin-holes in vinyl on 2005 Eagle - best way to fix?

I called FWC and bought some matching vinyl material and some HH-66 vinyl cement. FWC instructed me on how to apply the patch. IMO that is the best way to go. Sent from my iPad using Wander The West

Woogybugger, the link pokybro posted shows more and better pictures than I have. That is actually the post I followed that showed me what I needed to do to narrow my floor pack. That convinced me that I could tackle the project. The one piece of aluminum tubing that needs to be removed and...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Older Keystone box dimensions.

I have a 1983 Keystone and although it has the wood floor pack and interior wood paneling, the framing is aluminum. That is the way I believe all the Four Wheel Campers are made. The camper may fit between the wheel wells but it is the rear part of the camper that tends to not fit in the tail...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Adding a Slide Out for the Cabover Bed

Thanks Longhorn, I hadn't thought about the buildup of condensation under the mattress. The Hyper- Vent looks like a good solution. Thanks Alley-Kat for the photo's. They are a big help. I think I'll try the 1/2 " plywood but I'm thinking a 5/8 or 3/4 plywood might be required. I'm not the...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Adding a Slide Out for the Cabover Bed

Another change I want to do, is make the bed an extendable bed so we can sleep in the direction of front to back. I know I'll have to add the rails on the wall. The part I'm puzzled with is if you have a platform (plywood), then slide it out wouldn't you be left with a step the thickness of the...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Access holes to turnbuckles

Wow, thanks for all the input from everyone. I guess I was just over thinking the idea. I was trying to decide how large they could be to also use them to store non-essentials. I am definately no engineer but common sense says you don't want to put two 2 1/2 ft. long holes in a 5/8 thick plywood...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Access holes to turnbuckles

Hi all, I am a newbie here although I have been following several posts to get ideas. I have purchased a 1983 FWC Keystone camper 2 months ago and as most campers this age, it is in need of alot of TLC. I am going to try to avaoid a total rebuild at this point and attempt get it in shape to use...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Keystone Rebuild - Narrow Floor Pack, Redo Interior, Paint Exterior

Colorado, I've really enjoyed your post of your build. As you can tell I am a newbie to All this. I stumbled across a 1983 FWC Keystone the middle of April and have picked up a ton of information to allow me to narrow the floor pack , rebuild lift panels and more. Can't wait to see your final...
