RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West TriMetric 2025rv Installed in the Fleet

Adding this post for anyone considering a TriMetric 2025RV battery monitor but thinks it might be too difficult to install. Apologies if there are already posts about installing one of these devices but I could not find any via the search tool. The key point here is that I found the online...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Water/Battery Monitor Manufacturer?

According to FWC, the monitor is model m1106 from KIB Enterprises. Looks to be a custom unit as there is no reference to this model on the KIB site. From other models, it looks like the battery lights are Low, Fair, Good and Charging but I can't find the specifications for what triggers them...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Water/Battery Monitor Manufacturer?

Thanks pods8. Agree about the voltmeter but would just like to know if the lights are like 1/3 (L), 2/3 (F), 3/3 (G) full and charging (C)or something different - just for quick reference.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Water/Battery Monitor Manufacturer?

Our new Fleet did not come with a manual for the stock water/battery monitor which also has a switch for the electric water pump and there does not seem to be a manual on the FWC Customer Support page for it. The monitor is logo'd as Four Wheel Campers but is likely sourced from a manufacturer...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Back to the Bodie HIlls

Thanks for another stellar report ski3pin. The areas around Bridgeport are some of my favorite places on this planet. Your report really captured the look and feel of the Bodie side. Your TR was also a first for me - it is the first time I have ever seen a reference to Glass Mountain. Some...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Biolite Camp Grill

imix, I totally agree there are better options out there for just a small stove. The difference maker, for me though, is the grill attachment for the Biolite. So far as I can tell, there is nothing similar in size or weight from any of the small stove manufacturers. This may change at some point...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West A Spring Break Trip

Wow - ski3pin, that was a terrific trip report from what must have been a terrific trip. Your tr's are inspiring - sincere thanks for taking the time to put them together.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Biolite Camp Grill

We like to grill but were not crazy about taking along a small barbeque, briquettes and starter fluid so had been looking for alternatives. Yesterday we came across the stove and the grill in the links below and brought them home to try - REI assured us they would take it back if we did not like...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Two New Fleets Cleared for Take-Off

Thanks for the good wishes everyone. Regarding trips, J&T are heading out on a cross country trip (Reno to Maine) in a few weeks. We will be a little less ambitious. Weekends at a ski area on Mt Hood until they close in late April and then exploring the east side of the Cascades in Washington...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Two New Fleets Cleared for Take-Off

steelhead's galley: As you can see, the options we chose are slightly different. J&T liked the European cabinet look with the bench seat, we liked the blond cabinets with the side dinette because the window is more in view. Hopefully the comparison shots will help anyone out there trying...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Two New Fleets Cleared for Take-Off

Our friends, John and Terry, were the first ones to find FWC several years ago and got us thinking about one about a year ago. After months of research and thinking about it intensely, we both ordered Fleets in February. They were delivered and installed in Reno last Saturday. Our trip home to...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

A few thoughts below from someone who has just gone through this same process - we pick up our Fleet next week. Bear in mind that, since we have not actually used our choices, they may be completely wrong. The best advice I have is to take some time and read through all the posts you can on this...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Dual-purpose rear floodlamps

I looked at the camera in the link below at a car stereo store today. It flush mounts in the bumper and comes with its own drill bit. I plan to take a closer look to determine if it can be connected to the 2nd gen Tacoma wiring to the rear view mirror. I really liked the sample mount in the...

Thanks for the idea about a second camera. To clarify, is the tail gate camera out of commission after splicing in the new one?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Dual-purpose rear floodlamps

Thanks for this idea Johnathan. Makes me happy that we ordered our Fleet with the LED lights back there. Having them controlled remotely is definitely something to consider. Not to hijack this thread but did you do anything with the rear view camera in the JATAC? I find myself using it more...

Very nice Trip Report ski3pin. Those were excellent conditions for February - looked more like April/May. Good call by you and the Lady to go there.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Order Placed for New Fleet

Mr. Hadley and ski3pin - really appreciate the comments. It is probably just my worry gene kicking in so it is good to hear that this should be a non-issue. Johnathan - thanks for your comment as well regarding solar. Using the power usage spreadsheet that is posted in the forum, I think we...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Lassen in the Winter

Looking forward to the full trip report too. We used to ski there each spring when we lived in Reno but it has been a long time since our last trip. Given ski3pin's photo and writing skills, this is going to be some fun reading.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Order Placed for New Fleet

Thanks for the insight Jim. Totally agree about the people at FWC. We have visited the factory twice and bombarded Steve with endless questions over the past 6 or so months. He has been really great to work but is probably as happy as we are to finally decide on the model and the options. As...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Order Placed for New Fleet

Update on the configuration. After weighing the pros and cons of the ice cooler versus a fridge for over a week, we have decided to go with the 2-way Waeco 65. A bit concerned about the added weight but in the end decided our backs (we both have bad ones) will prefer a smaller ice chest (if we...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Order Placed for New Fleet

Thanks Dan. I think the Silver Spur exterior was $500. It was a little tough to justify but we really like it and plan to keep this rig for a long time.
