I bet more than a few here have stopped to take a photo with this sign. I didn't write it, so the grammar is not my fault!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West WTB: Camper Jacks FOUND

Gotcha - thanks for the clarification. My tundra is extremely tight between the top of the bed rail and bottom of the camper, I don't think I could attach those brackets, plus I am looking for something I can leave installed if need be. Thanks though.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West WTB: Camper Jacks FOUND

I'm looking for the type that bolt to corner brackets, I have a pair of the tripod type that just pick up under the side of the camper (too exciting for my taste). Thanks though.

Looking for a set of 4 camper jacks and corner brackets for my ~98 FWC Hawk.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Load range C or E ?

My 2012 Tundra is the base trim version, I changed out the stock P-metric tires (and 18" steel wheels) for a set of the 17" Rock Warrior package wheels and 285/70R17 Nitto Terra Grapplers, load range E. I noticed a drop in mileage (~1 mpg) but I attribute it more to the taller/wider tire than it...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Four Wheel Camper Hawk Shell with no Aux Battery Wiring Question

Blue Sea has some nice diagrams in their installation instructions for their battery isolator (Automatic Charging Reelay, as they call it): http://assets.bluesea.com/files/resources/instructions/990170140.pdf

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fleet on a tundra

I have an older Hawk (1999?) on a 2012 Tundra, works well with a platform underneath that's made of 2x4's laid flat and 2 layers of 3/4" plywood over top. If you need any measurements off the truck bed let me know and I'll get them for you.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Shorter Length Hawk

What kind of truck? Plug and play backup camera (this one's for a current gen tundra, they have lots of options. https://camera-source.com/automotive-cams/camper-5th-wheel-cams/10-15-toyota-tundra-camper-camera-kit-plug-and-play.html

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2013-2016 Tundra DBL 4x4 5.7 GVWR/GAWR Rear with Hawk

If I were buying a new (to me) truck specifically to haul around a FWC, I'd also go 3/4 ton. Like most, I had the truck before the camper, and financially its not feasible to trade up just yet. My 2012 Tundra Double Cab 4x4 (with the smaller 4.6 V8, no less) handles my '98 vintage FWC Hawk...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How about a Spring Time WTW Rally - Carrizo Plain ?

Lyons is closed now, i've hiked through a few times in search of water in the Sespe to do some fly fishing. A bit more hopeful after this winter ... I hope. Map and Guide for Carrizo Plain NM...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How about a Spring Time WTW Rally - Carrizo Plain ?

I'll put my name in as a 'probably', this is right in my backyard. Would be fun to put a face to some screen names.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Yeti cooler deals?

I got mine at REI using a 20% coupon and my dividend. Doubt I'd have paid that much for a cooler if I had to buy it full price, but it is a really nice cooler :)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Gas Struts 30' & 30'

Thanks for posting this - I had been holding off on ordering gas springs for my FWC Hawk because I couldn't track down the part number for the 30 lb version.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West First Trip/Maiden Voyage - Where was it?

Spent the day after buying my FWC Hawk exploring the Mojave Preserve, and camped at Hole in the Wall campground. Second trip out is planned for this weekend - taking our 5 month old son camping for the first time, along with a couple of other new parents.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Yeti Cooler and Hawk Shell

You got me curious (because I am buying a Yeti Cooler this weekend, and planning to buy a Hawk shell in the next few years) MegaHawk says 45 1/4" floor width, should be plenty even if the dinette cuts into that a little bit...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Opened Turnbuckles

Looks like you just plain exceeded the load rating on the hook portion. I was taught that open eye bolts are for hanging plants on your grandma's porch, and closed eye bolts (think 1 piece forging) are for hanging real loads. I would swap those out for some closed eye turnbuckles and use a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West SUV tent attached to an FWC camper? (Any suggestions?)

The SUV tents I'm thinking of use the raised rear hatch for support, not sure how you'd deal with that on FWC. What about an awning with side walls, like ARB and others sell? http://store.arbusa.com/ARB-Awning-2000-ARB4402A-P3656.aspx +...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Toyota Tundra Does a Titan Move: Turns to Cummins for a Diesel V-8

My 2012 Tundra has been 100% solid over the first year and a half of ownership, and I expect it to be the same until I trade it in (hopefully) for the diesel version:) It really sounds like you're just wanting to not like the truck, which is fine - lots of other options out there for you!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West to regear or supercharger?

Same as other people have said, drop tire pressure. You need to be careful below 15 psi but should be able to run that low pretty safely. No clue what the boat weighs, but its a Triumph 19' center console with a big Yamaha 4 stroke on the back. He tows it from SoCal up to Washington every...
