RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Not a camper, but an awesome Tacoma for expedition with a Four Wheel Camper.

Looks like he had a hard time deciding how he wanted to camp. Looks like he went from an AT trailer to a Flippac to a FWC. Nice looking rig though.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Tool for camper insulation analysis

I've been so tempted to get one of these. I'm imagining using it at night to "see" what that noise is outside. But then I think maybe I don't really want to know!

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Bicycle option--- folding bike / SRV

We went with a couple of folders from Bike Friday, www.bikefriday.com . They fit nicely behind one seat. They're not a rugged as a mountain bike but are usable on dirt roads in the configuration we bought. Shown below in my trunk.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West BBQ for camper - with a poll!

We've got a Weber-Q but it takes up so much space. I picked up one of these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001NGO358 and have used it once on top of a Partner Steel stove. It worked pretty well but I need some more practice. It takes up very little space and all the pieces can go into the...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Selling my 2005

Thanks so much for the info. My new truck is a 2010 Ford 150 4x4, when I originally bought my Hawk in 2005 I had a Ford 150 4x4 shortbed and the camper fit well but this new truck is only 5 1/2 and the bed is a bit deeper... So your saying if I left the tailgate down it would fit! Wow great...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West 2004 Phoenix Camper - $2500

His response:It's an eight foot model. I had it in a Six foot tundra four door. It weighs 1200 lbs. Seems like a good deal for someone nearby. I'm too far away to consider it, plus my truck bed is too short.

Interesting. It looks like it came off a small truck. I emailed the poster to find out.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Death Valley Rally after Christmas

It seems like we've got a good group forming at the Ballarat rendezvous. I'm still planning on arriving at Saline on the 26th for a few days of soaking. We'll look up Gene when we're there, and maybe catch some music if we're lucky. We'll probably do some hiking around the canyons at the foot...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Death Valley Rally after Christmas

We should be there some time on the afternoon as well. I've driven through Ballarat a few times coming or going from Death Valley via Goler Wash but don't remember a campground. I know Ballarat isn't exactly a big place but can someone give me a clue where the campground is and where the...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Death Valley Rally after Christmas

We've had some discussions with some friends about doing a DV trip between Christmas and New Year. They aren't exactly off road camper per se. They tend to drag an old canned ham trailer out into the dirt but it wouldn't make it up the roads I usually take. I talked about meeting them at...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Bunk Beds in a Hawk?

I'd do a custom bunk and just have them make sure to get some framing in there for you. Have the bottom one flat all the time and the top one pivot down the form a couch back. Keep in mind though these are going to narrow and the bottom one isn't going to have much vertical space unless you...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Bunk Beds in a Hawk?

We're looking into buying a Hawk in the future and after reading through this and other forums, there seems to be a love/hate relationship with both the dinette and the couch options. I've got two teenage girls who camp with my wife and i. The perfect setup for us would be bunk beds instead of...
