RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Where do you park your camper?

That is a tough question! I'm keeping my Grandby on the truck for now and just parking in a spot in our apartment complex with no cover. My main concern with a larger city (we currently live in Emmaus, PA) would be security for the rig. I wish your potential customer the best in his efforts...

Ha, yes, you are right about the long turning circle of the extended cab. It takes some getting used to, but so far I haven't found a place I can't turn around in with a multi-point maneuver. Trailheads might get interesting, though. We have lived in Tennessee, Minnesota, and Chicago besides...

Iowahiker, I have the 5.0 V-8 like yours, but have not checked gas mileage by the tank. The dash computer gives readings about like your numbers, but it varies wildly depending on speeds, terrain, and wind speed and direction, sometimes showing 13 mpg and sometimes up to 16 mpg. I don't know...

Ted here in the Allentown, PA area as of this past summer. Great to hear from so many of you, and I love the idea of hooking up with others in this half of the country. We lived overseas for decades before moving here, so have only minimal experience camping. We arranged to purchase a 2014...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Four Wheel Campers: We have a New East Coast Dealer in West Chester, PA

Fantastic news! I look forward to seeing more FWC campers around Eastern Pennsylvania so my own FWC Grandby won't feel so lonely. Best wishes to Main Line Overland and to Four Wheel Campers.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Placed My Grandby Order

Congratulations! That is very, very exciting, and I am also looking forward to pictures and trip reports!! Sean Dempsey emailed me the other day to say that my Grandby is scheduled to arrive at his place in early June. However, I won't be able to get to Eagle to pick it up until late July...

DanT, Thanks for the congratulations! I am so excited for the end of July to come when we get to first meet our new truck and camper. I'll do my best to post pictures then; I know I'm going to take a bunch. As far as a catchy slogan goes, I'm looking forward to seeing what kinds of things...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West My Pilgrimage to Woodland

Thanks for this post, DanT. I have already ordered a Grandby to pick up at Sean's in Eagle, Wisconsin, this summer. As I live overseas and will be moving back to the States (East Coast), Sean has gone way out of his way to be of help to me in getting not only a camper, but also a truck...

I surely am interested in photos of the build process -- and of the new camper when you get it. Inside pics as well as outside ones are great.

Great read, Iowahiker! Thanks for posting. Your setup is just about what we are planning to order very soon from Sean at Go Anywhere, and it is really good to hear about how your truck and camper work. We would love to see some pictures of your setup and some of the details you mention in...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Electrical Questions

That sounds great, Longhorn1. I'm still in heavy research mode and since we'll be living on the East Coast and traveling quite a bit in the southeastern states, we want A/C if at all possible. This knowledge will open up some more options for us. Thanks, and let us know how this all works out.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Electrical Questions

I think the propane tank placement with the front dinette fills in where the passenger side rear window would otherwise go, whether or not you have a cassette toilet back there. I've been communicating with Sean Dempsey of Go Anywhere in Wisconsin, and he said the FWC factory confirmed that an...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Electrical Questions

I notice you said you are planning on getting a self-contained Grandby in the near future, but that you also want to run an air-conditioner with your generator. May I ask if that will be a built-in air-conditioner or a portable one? I have always thought the self-contained version cannot have...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Advantages of front dinette seating

This is my first post on this forum after several years of avid reading and serious dreaming and planning. My wife and I are aiming to order an FWC next year as a retirement gift for each other. The question of which dinette to choose for a Grandby is the conundrum we're caught up in as well...
