First Night in New Hawk. Furnace Question

I have a Hawk with dual 6v batteries, I can run the heater all night and have done so many nights in subfreezing temps. I just can’t run this battery down, and the solar panel has it topped off in 1-2 hours of even cloudy sky the next morning.

Raising or Lowering FWC Top In Below Zero [F].

If I get stuck in freezing temps while camping I open all the cabinets and seats so the hot air circulates in those spaces, it works. As for the drain, hook a hose to it outside and let the water run on the ground or let it freeze in the 5 gallon collapsible container. Leaving any snow on the...

    Battery Maintainer Question

I plug into shore power and put a maintainer on the truck battery, hopefully I won’t toast my batteries but over two winters now no problem. I can confirm that the shore power will also charge the truck battery by itself once a certain voltage is reached.

    Quick Release Shower valves

Does anyone know where I can find a new wand for the most recent outside shower fitting? I have 2019 Hawk. The reason is I would like the hose be at least 2-3 times longer to reach a shower tent. So I don’t have to put it so close to the rig.

Aluminess Deluxe Boxes directly to FWC

They are way to heavy, people even have issues with mounting extra fuel to the jack bracket. I have been thinking of using this guy to fabricate a bumper. http://robbonneyfab.com/bumpers-tire-carriers/

Project "M" ... New FWC Style

I like that you can keep your tailgate on and the mounting channels on the sides. I probably would've gone with this M style instead of my Hawk as my whole idea was to camp more outside rather than inside. BUT, my wife was getting tired of crawling into a tent and being cold and wanted comfort...

    Prospective buyer: Hawk or Grandby?

I have the Hawk on a 6'2" bed (I think) Dodge Ram Crew Cab, the extra space in the back seat is a must for us, camping gear, dog stuff, inflatable paddle boards, firewood stop, etc. There is always way more stuff then there is room to take. If you are getting the shell this might not be an...

    6 volt batteries

Dual 6 volt batteries with your solar setup .. you’ll rarely see a dip in your battery ( using primarily the fridge) if it can get a few hours of sun or driving per day. My battery is topped off usually by 9am after running the furnace and fridge all night. I installed a Victron Bluetooth...

Not sure how I found these guys online but they built my steps to order and had it sent out within a few days. I got the model S-55DP for five steps, double bars and top step platform. This thing is VERY sturdy and came with quick release style mounting bar. I'm in the process of deciding how to...

Bent roof by leaving one latch on when opening

Used the 2x4 method and an IRWIN clamp and it turned out pretty nice. Still a little bowing but I didn't want to push it to far. https://norsman.smugmug.com/Camping/FWC-Misc/n-72Mqkn/i-HhTrbQJ/A

Bent roof by leaving one latch on when opening

No, I couldn't tell from the inside that the roof had bent at all. I'm going to try the 2x4 and bend method this week. I think it will go right back to normal with minor cosmetic changes on the roof.
