I thought the reason the new deisel wasn't released was pretty obvious, when you're not selling any cars and trucks ypu don't release new models. Also, until recently deisel fuel was priced higher than reg. gas, I don't think that helped in the decision either. The engine has been tested in europe in a fleet of Range Rovers with good results. The truck will be on sale soon as a 2010 model. GM has one also, if the Gov. will let them build it, Ford doesn't have to ask. As for the much loved Fiat, sorry no half ton deisel, but there will be a fleet of shitty little cars coming form them with 2 litre turbo deisels that won't pull your hair out, I can see Cummins pulling out before they go broke again, which I'm sure they will. Fiat has gone under here once already.

I don't agree with that at all. When sales are slow, more than ever you need to release models that people want to buy. Look at the new Fusion hybrid - that thing is selling like crazy. Good thing Ford didn't play it safe with that one too.

The F series truck is still the best selling vehicle in America. If Ford wants it to stay that way they better start innovating.

Well here's how it is, the Tacoma was due for a redesign, it's at the end of it's run. But when you still have unsold 08 models sitting around are you going to invest in that, no your going to upgrade the cup holders, and slap some hedious green paint on the things, and wait for a better day, and thats Toyota who lost money for the first time in their exsistance. The big three have been losing money every since I can remember, I think they might have finally learned something. Hang on until they clean out the few million unsold cars and trucks they have sitting around. The econo box sales are booming right now, and they have a pile of Explorers going to the scrap yard at somebodys expence, I wonder who, but is it little **** box cars that get 50mi. to the gallon that we're interested in, I don't think so.

I don't know fisherman. Here in the Socialist Republic of California reg. gas is $3.00 a gal. 50 MPG sounds good to me. And I can carry all my sh** in the box with me. And I have some pretty good sh**.

Cheers,

Mike
