Meteorological Spring

We had our sucker hole weather last week, officially hit over 70 last week. Cloud and rain moved back in, snow down to the passes, 5-6"+ in the mountains above 4000', unofficially over an inch of rain at the house over the past few days. 60 feels like a heat wave these days. But can you say green? Stand in one place too long around here and something will grow around your ankles. Worth every gray minute :)

It is definitely late spring. The Ponderosa pines just exploded with pollen. Fine yellow silt covers everything.
Here in the Willamette Valley the explosion was about 3 weeks ago. Fortunately, there was enough rain to wash it away.

OMG, our 10-20 degree above ave. temps(70's) in the 80's and low 90's just dropped to the low 50's with rain, wind and a chance of snow up at Eagle Lake today and temps in the 30's expected tonight! Had to turn on the heater and split and stack some wood in case we lose power. Did I say we had high winds and a Red Flag warning yesterday (several small fires have already broken out as the cheat grass dries). Love this weather-supposed to get hot again by the end of the week!! What weird weather-a real roller coaster it has been with lot's of more fun to come! Mosquitoes out in force-need to buy some new stingze!

Yep-it just changed from heavy duty T-storm rain to hail-covering the lawn and deck now-looks like snow! Just started a fire, might as well be comfortable as I watch the Giants maybe win one  ! No snow here yet, but the day is young!
