Steve native Americans also call it
the Moon When the Deer Shed Their Antlers,
Moon of Popping Trees.Snow Moon,
Cold Moon,and Long Moon Night.

Lots of names for a great photo.
It's clear here tonight so we will get to see it.
Watched it go down this morning.

That's quite a portrait of the RBSS, especially with a phone(!).
I get them in GV also, with the acorn woodpeckers.

We've got several Oaks along with Acorn Woodpeckers. They can be quite destructive pecking on our log home. The RBSS are really tame and I love their whimsical calls. I handheld my iphone up to my spotting scope to take the picture. It took about 10 tries to get a decent image. I have a digi-scope attachment on order and hope it makes these shots easier.

Oops, you're right. It's a Red-Breasted Sapsucker.

Just got a PhoneSkope digiscoping adapter for my iphone 11. Saw 4 turkey vultures drying off after overnight rain and took this pic. while participating in the Great Backyard Bird Count.

Pilot must have left his wallet & had to go back and get it. Don’t see to many U turns in contrails.

Very nice light.
