Thanks, it works out well for carrying the Maxtrax and an axe/shovel. Totally out of the way unless its needed. Its half of a Megawarrior basket.

Do the brackets hold it steady? I would need the same kind on my 05 tundra DC.

Its sitting on Yakima Q Towers and is clamped down by with the brackets from Yakima. It does not move at all, I could do chin ups off it!

I have the same truck and assuming the fin antennae is blocked. What reception has been lost? Love the idea. Want to make sure I know what will happen if implemented.

Yes the Onstar antenna is covered up. There really isn't any room to move it back far enough to uncover it. I don't have a subscription to it anymore, and don't know if XM uses the fin or the regular antenna.

Here is a better look at where the antenna is under the rack. Sorry couldn't find a better pic and its off the truck right now.

My goal was to carry the Maxtrax, shovel/axe, and a gas can. It was also important to me that they not be in the way as they are for emergencies. Originally the plan was to use a swing out cargo carrier and store everything there but it just seemed like a hassle. Here is what I did for the gas can. Its an AT carrier that I had a bracket made to attach to the jack brackets and also supported on the bottom by a bracket that attaches under the side overhang with some bolts. Everything is there but out of the way!
