Sightings thread

Oops, forgot to post this one at the time.

About a week ago I saw an older FWC Eagle on a white Dodge Dakota camped on the beach at Port Aransas, Texas. Didn’t catch the plates.
.

Just passed by a Silver Spur edition Hawk on a dark Ram truck at Panther Junction in Big Bend National Park. South Carolina plates.

Been an Ocelot on a Tundra at June Mountain this season, tele skier, not very gregarious - I called out "Hail, fellow All Terrain owner" and he just looked at me.

July 1, 2022 parked at a trailhead into the Eagle Cap Wilderness in northeast Oregon. It's an older FWC adorned with stickers on a truck with Idaho "Tater Plates." Anyone recognize it?

I don't know who it is, but we saw them when they pulled into Terminal Gravity the night of 6/24. They left, I assume due to how busy it was. It's a camper you don't soon forget! I was hoping to ask them about the history of that color!

Okay, he was a single backpacker we met on the trail. He said he was backpacking with his family a week earlier. They aborted the trip due to the high water and snow. He returned a week later to do the trip alone.

Since I saw it at the refuge headquarters twice, I'll go out on a limb. A member of the staff at Hart Mountain National Antelope Refuge has an All Terrain Camper.

In the Waxmyrtle USFS campground south of Florence, OR today: an ATC on an Oregon-plated Tacoma.

Wandering around the Wallowas, saw a nice Provan Tiger. It turned out to be the Teds, nice to see friends out and about!

Hot on that side of the county. Coming home, we saw 108°. Nearing home, a rain shower dropped it to 64°, a change of 44° in roughly 25 miles travel.

A sighting close to home, as close as possible without being home: my [just-moving-in] next-door neighbor has a FWC Fleet!
He tells me he's a fan of WTW, so he must be a good guy.

It is a small world, Mr. BC! :)

Idaho - Tuesday and Wednesday, August 16 & 17, there was a white Tacoma with a FWC Fleet camper in the Fourth of July Creek trailhead in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. The camper was from the FWC dealer in Jackson Hole and the truck carried Idaho Purple Heart license plates. A service in Vietnam ribbon bumper sticker was on the bumper. The owner may have been the fly fishing gentleman we talked with on the trail coming down from Phyllis Lake early Tuesday morning.

Looks like it's been a long time since anything has been sighted...so I'll remedy that:
Right now, in a campsite about 50 yards from me, is this FWC

experiencing the same torrential downpour, winds, lightning and thunder that I am here in Sea Rim State Park on the southeast Texas Gulf coast. And at 45°F it ain't no tropical monsoon neither.

Finally!

I just saw a Grandby on a blue F150 with Maryland plates pulling into the hardware store in Everglades City, Florida.

I turned back and we spoke for 15 minutes or so. He lives near Annapolis and bought his 2015-model camper new from Main Line Overland in PA.

Like me, he’s just wandering around down here in the perfect weather then heading home before it heats up and the mozzies get bad.

Another Florida sighting today…

A 90-ish Grandby on a Ram truck with New Hampshire plates and towing a vintage racing boat. Sighted at the America’s Seaplane City launch ramps in Tavares, Florida. I spoke with the owner, Eben, as he prepped his Chevy V8-powered 1980s-vintage racing boat ‘Half Fast’ for the show this weekend…. the Wooten Park Vintage Raceboat Regatta.

Eben bought the camper from a friend. He was very interested to learn of the existence of Wander The West.

Good luck this weekend, Eben!
