Thinking this morning of Gordon Lightfoot's songwriting skills. I was living and working in Wisconsin - my Midwestern birthplace - when the Edmund Fitzgerald went down. It remains a vivid memory.

Perhaps the best American music composition of all time. The pianist was 13 when this performance was filmed.
Gershwin is one of my favorites.
I started listening to Rhapsody in Blue back in the mid 50s.

On my roadtrip to Baja I posted this song from my early childhood ...I was maybe 12 or so?... These folks were pretty hip. Not square daddy-o. (Pretty new I think was the 12 string guitar full sound)
