These photos of Kilauea lava flows were TAKEN BY A FRIEND,but they are so awesome I had to share.
The friend took a before dawn boat trip to capture the shots from where the lava spills into the ocean.

Last time we were there, 2007we saw a small amount flowing into the ocean but it was from at least a mile away.

Nature sure is awesome.

I've been meaning to show some support for GSEMN which is slated for 74% reduction if Garfield County, and Utah Governor get their way. It's tragic to think these lands will lose their protections, for short term gain and long term damage. <exiting soapbox>

Somewhere down the Harris Wash, navigating by map & compass with threatening weather up canyon.

Getting that Zebra feeling

Yup. We stumbled into this one, coming from the long way around.

There was still flowing water in the upper portion of the canyon.

I did use the Orton effect for this image.

Ventured out to Anza Borrego last week to avoid the insane weekend crowds and was not disappointed. I've never seen the desert so alive! This a a 6 shot pano shot on Canon 6D, ISO 200, F11, 1/6sec. Edited lightly in Lightroom to stitch the photos and recover some shadows.
