Thermostat Failure 2015 Hawk

Plus one to what Rando said a few pages back about getting Away from Attwood/Dometic junk. 2017 Fleet, total of 12 gallons through water heater and the circuit board failed on a trip (apparently this is a known issue). As a bonus Attwood customer service was a royal PITA to deal with, I finally gave up on them and found an rv place to run the warranty through. Furnace fan now making an odd noise on start up and shut down; fan motor bearing?
Back on topic: The original Honeywell digital thermostat failed, replaced with the same model (working so far), will likely go with White Rogers non digital.

We've got the same OEM digital thermostat that came with our 2016 Hawk and just last month replaced the batteries for the first time when the backlight wouldn't come on (very frustrating to our senior eyes!) You have to reprogram the thermostat per instructions to re-enable the backlight. Other than that no problems whatsoever.

However, we would like to have a much lower set point for the furnace to trip on. It's lower limit is 45 degrees on our model but when cold weather camping in our sleeping bags, we'd much prefer to set it at 32 to 35 degrees otherwise we get too hot. Does anyone know if that is possible?

We go with a "field expedient" method of allowing our '16 Hawk night time temps to go below 45...I set the furnace at 45-55 and then turn it off when we go to bed...simply hitting the toggle switch to turn on furnace heats up the camper just before we get up...save electrical and propane...
