So, what is a good price for a 2002 Hawk? It looks to be in perfect shape.

Has mechanical jacks, roof rack, aux battery, screen door, etc...

Anything I should know about a 2002 FWC?

This one is going down in price, first $6800, then $5900. I think he bought it in January for $5000 though, see pg 20 in this thread.

You can spend a half-hour paging back through this thread to see indications of Hawk/Grandby prices in that year range. Sounds like a good price to me, especially since you're not too likely to find another one in Florida for a while.

Thanks, we have been paging thru these ads, but most are already deleted and hard to find out what options, price etc...

The only thing this camper doesn't seem to have is the 3 way fridge, but I guess we can get an engel. At this price, we can afford some upgrades. Also will needto put in the front window that opens, but again, at less than half what a new one is,I can't go wrong!!

DOes anyone know if this camper would fit my 2000 F-250 short bed?
I to have been looking for a Granby but this looks like the perfect fit! Me last camper was a Phoenix for a long bed and I used this caomper with the tail gate down and it worked well. I will not go into the reason I sold my last camper but I'm in the process of looking for a new one! and your site has been a great resource!

FWC was started in Colorado, hence all the older models there. Dave Rowe's (creator of FWC and later Tiger motorhomes) son still runs Phoenix campers from Denver.

I think it means Coeur D'Alene, ID which is about 35 miles East of Spokane.

For the money & location I'd say get it and see how you like the style camper. In the meantime your truck with then be set up for a camper and if a grandby crosses your path you could easily snatch it up and resell this one. Its not like there would be much investment in it...

That's a good point, but I wasn't sure if a Hawk would fit in an 8' bed. Wings/wrap/etc? Anyway, it's gone now. After going through a couple weeks of MUST-HAVE-FWC-NOW angst, I'm exercising patience and saving up for a Grandby within a day's drive (which is anything from Sacramento north to Canada and east to Boise/Reno).

That didn't have wings did it? Folks put hawks in 8' beds from time to time and either leave room in the back of the truck for stuff or mount the camper back flush in the truck and have storage in front of it.

Wasn't there just a 2000 grandby in federal way, WA a few weeks ago? Did you look into that one? Would have only been 2hr drive approximately.

I can sure relate to the "MUST-HAVE-FWC-NOW angst" :) I have been looking for about a year and always seem to be the first guy to call after it's been sold. With desert season approaching- I find myself getting ancy for the right one - which is a 2004 or newer Hawk-- or better yet a Kestrel- to fit my 2003 Tundra. :cool:

I sure do appreciate your postings- you have been on top of a lot of good ads and I will keep my eye out for a good deal on a Grandby for you.
