I don't know if I can recommend any places in this area, it has been raining on a daily basis down here for more than a week.

Seminole Natl Park http://floridastateparks.org/collier-seminole/ was pretty nice a few months ago. At least if you like canoe / kayak excursions through the Everglades and swamp forest.

If you decide to drive south, let me know by PM and we can meet on your way.
