I haven't seen anything on this topic though it might be out there. My 98 Sun Lite zippers are in pretty good condition considering their age but the corners are difficult on some of them to get around. Yes, when its hot its less of a deal but cooler weather poses problems. Is there a make of wax that is better than another out there and which is better wax or lubricant.
Thanks

I use Zipper Ease on all my marine applications (boat cockpit sun cover, sail covers & bags, and even wet suit zippers). Works well on both metal and plastic zippers.
I suppose I should put some on my 8 year old ATC Bobcat zippers.

The only zippers I have are on my cushions, do you have others?

Just an FYI and perhaps not applicable...but on dry suits [diving] we used bees wax...did not accumulate grit, worked very well to reduce friction on zippers, stayed on, did not damage rubber seals and was inexpensive...Zipper Ease lists use on wet suits? Well "real divers" :D don't have zippers on wet suits...without zippers they are warmer, more flexible and there aren't zippers to bind or fail..

Phil.

For lubricating zippers, I have always used a regular #2 pencil. Just rub the pencil lead over the zipper. It works similar to powered graphite for locks. The graphite lubricates without any oil or wax or grease, all of which can attract dirt.

Interesting......would have never thought of that. Thx Zirdu ...I will try that.

Wow, I never new there was so much stuff on pencils.....softness, etc.

On our dry suits, we follow our local dealer recommendation, "We can sell you expensive products, but rubbing a candle over the edge of the zipper teeth works just fine."
