Same for me on the Geolander. I have a set on my 05 2500HD and really like them. mine are not an E, they are D rated but have not had any problem with heavy loads or hauling the Hawk. Great traction, not many miles on them yet but friends have gotten 40,000 plus on them.

Mine got some bald spot also that are growing. The cause for mine was ice buildup being stored outside in the winter and peeled the paint when I pushed the ice off. I have not had any corrosion issue but in the dry Nevada weather probably never will.

Do you have a good ground on that outlet? If you are checking power to the center of the outlet and ground for some other point that could be your problem
