RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Happy MOON DAY!

Growing up in that era was exciting. Nothing at all similar has happened since. We hung on every word about space exploration. We knew all the astronauts names. I remember the shock and disappointment at finding out it would not go on forever. Happy moon day.

Toroweap is first on my list of new places to try. Too bad about the length restictrions. I would have loved to be able to take my bikes, extra firewood and coolers.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West I need to hear a good new joke

A guy goes to prison. He notices that every now and then one of the prisoners will call out a number, like "seventyfour" and all the other prisoners laugh. He asks his cellmate about it and is told "We only have one joke book in here, and everybody has memorized it. So if you want to tell a...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Where to go!

No real need to worry or plan too much. Just get on the road, let things take care of themselves. Some of my best trips were totally unplanned. Ended up in some pretty awesome places that I had never heard of. It doesn't always turn out well, but often enough.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Goblin Valley Rock pushed over!

"US Prosecutors have filed felony charges against two ex-scout leaders who toppled over an ancient rock formation at a state park last year. Dave Hall filmed Glenn Taylor pushing over the 170 million-year-old sandstone rock in Utah's Goblin Valley State Park in October and celebrating. Mr...

Maybe I led a sheltered/priveledged life, but to me camping never meant in a campground. Campgrounds = Motel 6.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Removal and Storage of Hawk

The cordless drill is needed in most cases. Don't get a cheap 12 volt one. You will kill the battery on one or two jacks. 18 volt brand-name is the way to go. My DeWalt will raise and lower all four jacks two or three times on one charge.

I would add lumber to the top of the sawhorses so you only have to lower the camper a half inch or so.

$2? They aren't 50 cents anymore? :D The isolater is going back in. I just bought the wire connectors to hook everything back up. I guess I should buy a hearing aid.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Our first real trip in the ATC Puma. Dedicated to Jay.

Well, through trial and error, I think airing down the trailer helps for deep soft sand. I never got around to taking pictures on the last trip. We went to the Virginia Dale mine near 29 Palms, and my stock F-250 long bed 4x4 truck had no chance of getting up to it, at least not with my driving...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Done something really stupid?

Being somewhat hard of hearing, but not deaf, I was annoyed by a loud intermittent electronic chirping that started recently just before my last trip. I turned the 12v system on and off a few times and listened around. Crawling around on my hands and knees I determined the culprit was the...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West The case for getting far, far away

Some of my finest memories involve being on a lower rung in the food chain. Scuba diving at San Clemente island. An awesome untouched area. Back on the boat and there is only the pristine cliffs of the island to see. No man made objects in any direction as far as the eye can see. It's like going...

Folgers Coffee Singles. Tea bags with coffee instead of tea. Not gourmet, but hey, we are talking camping here. Fast, simple and no extra stuff to haul around and clean-up. Plus, you can fine tune the strength with how long you let it steep. Perfect every time for everyone.

My wife's ex-boss heard all about our trip. He begged to go along on our next one, so we are going to repeat our adventure with a guest, probably on Wed. through Sat. I'll try to take better photos and make better descriptions. This last trip was a great shakedown cruise. The camper was...
