RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Plugging into AC for Extended Time

Plugging into AC for an extended time seems like a great idea. The batteries should always be charged but I does it stress anything? I think the answer may be yes. What is the long term effect on the batteries to be at 13.6v? Should the converter be on for that long? My solution is simple put a...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Camper Charging Issues

wow radarcontact you have found an old thread

I have been using this set up with the sure power separator and it still works great.
Your first question is easy look at the schematic again. The bottom wire, the black one with the 10A fuse goes to the ground. If you have a...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Heater Is not working

I hate to admit it but this actually happened to me twice. I found and replaced the White-Rogers thermostat a few years ago and I forgot about it. When it happened the first time I bought a new digital thermostat the same one that FWC had changed to...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Heater Is not working

I had a similar problem. It turned out to be the thermostat. I had a hard time finding the problem as when the thermostat was turned down everything looked fine but with the thermostat turned up the problem was apparent. See the photo. I did find the problem with a volt meter. One of the wires...

On our way out to Yellowstone from California we picked up this mouse. My wife sure let out a scream when she opened the glove box. We were able to put on some gloves and quickly scoop it up and remove it. Where we live it is way out in the country and I have removed many mice from my truck...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West What Brand is the 160 watt Solar Panel FWC Provides?

I have to ask the question why a 160 watt solar panel. Is it because FWC does? I have a 160 watt Grape solar panel and it work great so while it is a good choice it is not what I would chose today. The reason that I have a 160 watt panel is that was the highest watt rigid panel that was a 12...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Lower 2 Way Refer Seal

I just cleaned up the gasket and put two small spots of clear silicon caulk into where the gasket fits on the door on the bottom and closed the door and a year later I still have yet to have it come out of the track again.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West When do you recharge?

Longbeard, the simple answer is that there is no way to "reset" the system manually. Many owners have switched out the separator with a Blue Sea system. DrJ did a nice write up on that upgrade here...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West When do you recharge?

To find out how the sure power battery separator works you should look at the manual. FWC has many manuals on their web site here is the one for the battery separator; http://www.fourwh.com/batteryseparator1315.pdf the model is 1314 and the 2 options (8+9) are not used.

I have a August 2012 hawk and the latch for the screen door is a little different than esimmers so I have attached a few photos. First the clip that holds the screen door isn't level the door handle is and you can see it is not even close. Here is a photo showing the clip holding the screen...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Adding 120 volt power to Fleet shell

It is hard(impossible) to see in your photo so I took one of my 120 volt circuit breaker. Blue sea systems it says on the bottom. The top breaker turns on and off the system. This is great to use when plugging and unplugging the camper. Otherwise you get a good spark at the plug. The bottom...

Esus I've had FWC install eye-bolts on two different trucks and I've seen the eye-bolts on several others. always the eye-bolts have faced each other in an x fashion. I'm not sure that yours are installed correctly. Here is a photo of mine. edit; I just reread your post that FWC also installed...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West How to activate power for refrigerator

I expect that because you had only an icebox that there was no need for wiring and none was done. Look on the fuse panel and see if a wire is attached to that fuse. If there is a wire what color is it, does it match what you tried to use to attach to the refrigerator? FWC put extra wires in that...

Advmoto I had the same problem with the bugs and with the seal on the bottom of the door of the fridge. I couldn't believe all the bugs attracted to the light inside the camper the biggest problem is how do I get them out. They fly right through the screen and get in by the millions. To get...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Ordering a Hawk 1-28-17 Do's Don'ts?

n2Jeepin, That is the step that I have and I leave it on almost always. I also have it tightened with a hitch tightener. The tightener makes it a little more trouble to remove. If you don't use the tightener it just wobbles a bit but you get used to it quickly and it is not so bad. The nice...
