RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Dometic 2 way CR-1065 refrigerator $175

65L Dometic 12V/110V fridge. Runs fine, stained a bit inside from containers moving around, etc. This is a cabinet mount fridge from a 2012 Fleet. It has a seperate freezer compartment. Used about 30 days/year on average. I've had it running on 110 volt in my garage for a year. Pick up only...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Components for sale after remodel of 2012 Fleet

Pick up in Salt Lake City. I'd prefer to sell the solar set up as a single system. Intial post had 2 AGM batteries included, but just tested and they wont hold a charge.. Thanks, Kent Solar System $200 100 Watt Panel (Grape) with 10 foot 12AWG duplex cable and SAE fitting Morningstar SunSaver...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fleet roof measurements for solar panel install?

Sharx, The "Z" metal attached to the 100w panel is part of a bracket for securing a table to a FrontRunner rooftop rack. I picked that up thinking I would attach under the camper cab overhang to stow the panel for easy access. I wasn't brave enough to drill holes into the overhang though, and...

Thanks for the link to the energy report. There it is, 59% of coal recoverable coal right in the middle of GSENM. Another developer w.., I mean fever dream from the 70's was the trans-escalate highway. It would have run from Bullfrog, across the Escalante river canyon, up and over the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Meanwhile in Utah

I kind of like the idea of a register of local businesses that are friendly to enhanced protection of federal land where designated, but maybe a better idea is to tap back into the resources of the WTW community. If you are passing through and have a good experience in a restaurant, post up in...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Meanwhile in Utah

On the other hand.. You may want to support the locals who are trying to move beyond an economy based on resource extraction. A boycott makes sense at the state gov level, where the legislature seems to think there is a future in coal, and I hope the OR show pulls out of SLC, as it would...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Yakima towers and landing pads on clearance

I use 72" cross bars on a 75" wide fleet. Didn't want the bars sticking out over the camper. Like other folks on the forum, I used aluminum tubing. Cheaper than the Yakima bars and much lighter. A 25lb Yakima basket is attached and carries stuff I don't want in the camper- waders, firepan, etc.

Thanks Vic! Great price - I've been watching the local classifieds for the last couple months. No good deals.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hold-down eye bolts on 2012 Fleet and Toyota trucks

Heads up for Fleet owners out there who have newer campers built for older Toyota trucks. I have a 2012 Fleet mounted on a 1996 Toyota T100. I bought the Fleet because it would fit a 2nd gen Tacoma, which I had planned as a replacement for the t100. I knew about the need for special eye bolt...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2015 Tacoma: Now what?

I just bought a 2012 Tacoma access cab, 6 speed manual to haul my fully loaded fleet. I plan on adding load e tires and airbags as ws, bill and JH recommend. If I'm not happy with how it rides with that setup, I'll look at replacing/enhancing the leaf springs, probably with the hellwig pack...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fleet comfortable enough for a couple?

I think the fleet is definitely functional for a couple. It helps to have one person at a time in the camper when standing is required- cooking, etc., and we have meals outside unless weather or bugs drive us inside. We have the side flip couch that's quite comfortable to sit on, plenty of room...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Tall People?!?

A bit over 6' 3" myself, but no problems standing up or moving around in my 2012 fleet. The lights are placed away from where you stand, so no head banging that way. You will be dancing though, if two of you try to move around in the camper at the same time, but you'll find ways to keep that at...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West CPAP in FWC

Bernard, The resmed s9 and h5i heated humidifier I use draws about 4 amps, which corresponds with the info on the link spitfire provided. So the 1 amp your CPAP draws seems pretty efficient to me. I camp a lot in cold, dry conditions so the heated humidifier, while an amp hog, is pretty much...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Gold Butte Range War

Right, something tells me this guys legal problems just got a lot worse. 20 years of trespass and skating on fees is one thing, but threating law enforcement and obstructing traffic on an interstates highway takes it to a whole new level, seems like to me. If LE backed down, it was because the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Arcing/Popping when plugging in Hawk

Would using the 12v master kill switch to turn off all loads before plugging in, then turning back on to use and/or charge aux battery be a solution? I have not noticed arcing when plugging into shore power but then can't really say if that's due to kill switch being in the off position...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Solar Math - calculating the needs of a DC Fridge (or What's Wrong with my CR65?)

I can confirm the 4 amp draw of the Waeco 65, and 2 amps/hour usage. During a recent trip I kept an eye on a trimetric 2025 battery meter, and an ear on the fridge compressor. Over 2 hours, the compressor cycled 3 times for a total of 63 minutes. Outside temp was in the low 60s. Inside temp...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Goblin Valley Rock pushed over!

Unfortunately the attitude dipslayed by these 3 dopes is not uncommon in Utah. I say that as a 4th generation Utahan. And yeah, I can pretty much gaurantee these guys were'nt drinking. I had some hope that all the outrage since their little video went viral would help bust the bubble that...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Rack Mounted Pressurized Portable Solar Shower

Very cool idea, but looks like you would have to fill/pressurize with camper top lowered, and would need to deal with lifting an additional 40-45 lbs. when raising the roof. Maybe not a problem with properly sized lifter struts on the back, but think I'll stick with slinging an MSR...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West truck suspension upgrade

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West A high-quality outdoor camp table with no loss of internal storage space

JHanson, I can't take credit for the idea of storing a solar panel on a bracket mounted under the cab-over. There are several folks on the forum who have fabricated brackets for panels and seem to be using them with success. I just like the idea of using the front runner z brackets for a solar...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West A high-quality outdoor camp table with no loss of internal storage space

Nice table JHanson, thanks for the link. I noticed the cab-over brackets can be purchased separately, and it looks like it could be an efficient way to carry (not mount) a solar panel. I was thinking of trying to rig up something similar, but this could save a lot of trouble..
