East Side Sierra Nevada - September 2022

That was a pretty ambitious group to build that structure, it must have included an engineer or two. Had you been to the ashram before?

I had learned about the ashram years ago but this was our first hike to see it.

It always amazes me how humans manage to build or at least
haul stuff into some of these far out areas.

That house in some engineering job.

Yes you sure do find the most far out places of interest.

Thanks for the trip.

Thanks for sharing your anniversary with us. Happy 39th and many more.

Your sky photos are beautiful, but that's to be expected of the Sierra sky.
Everythig about our glorious mountains is beautiful.

Appreciate you taking us along on your great trip.

Another wonderful TR! Spectacular scenery, interesting history, and beautiful photography (loved the sunsets)!

Thanks for letting us tag along :)

Frank, thanks for your kind comments. In researching the building, engineers were involved. What is now a foot trail was once a bit wider. A narrow tracked tractor pulled up a short flatbed trailer transporting people and supplies. That explains the stout bridge I photographed.

Thanks Mr. Sage, you are very kind!

Love the cloud colors at sunset/rise, and the granite! That's a bit out of my wheelhouse, as most of the rock around here is limestone/shale.

Another fine Trip report. Below could only be written by a lucky man. Congrats on 39 years.

"The Lady got her three wishes on how she wanted to celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary – a stone corral, a stone house, and the hike to Lone Pine Lake. For our fortieth, I expect something very similar will fit the bill. She is a whole heap of fun to enjoy life with."
