After a few days with highs in the low 60s, today it was in the mid-70s -- warm enough to open a lot of windows of the house again (during midday -- not at night anymore). 
Forecast highs of up to 80 here this weekend.
I don't think we've yet hit freezing at my place, which is unusual (though some spots in the area dropped below freezing).

I believe it, WS -- that's a cold area -- a high(er) basin that catches the cold.
I think that some areas of Bend proper have been below freezing in the past few days, too, and my house isn't usually in the banana belt, but for some reason it hasn't dropped below the mid-30s for me.
But...I have to be careful wishing too hard for cold weather -- i really don't want a sub-zero winter, not in town anyway.

Put the top on the Jeep last weekend. Its always sad when its that time. Still I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a wet winter.

DST: If retired or otherwise not working on the clock, why not just get up an hour later during DST? In other words, ignore it.

Me-I'm a retired but my animal instincts tell me to go to bed when it's dark out and get up when it starts to get light in the morning-no matter what the clock's say ! Seems like I spent most of my life living by the clock, now I try to eat when I'm hungry, sleep when I'm tired and "enjoy life" not fight it. Still. boy, can't wait for the time change so my "civilized" self can again co-exist with my "animal" self .Maybe that's why so many of my (retired) friends have thrown away their watches and seem to be enjoying life just fine !
