The Acoustic Thread - What are you listening to?

As the poet laureate of the US said... "he is a national treasure". His lyrics are remarkable... synthesized life down to simple reality.
His "It's a big ole goofy world" says it all.
 
Many, many years ago - around 1977 or so - I was a judge at a flat picking guitar contest that Mark entered in Redding, California. He won first place. Shortly after he toured the west coast with my brother's band and was featured on their first LP.

Fans of Mark O’Connor’s guitar playing have waited forty-two years for a follow-up to his 1978 wunderkind guitar LP Markology at age 16. After a twenty-year layoff due to chronic bursitis in his right elbow caused by guitar and mandolin playing (but not from playing the violin), O’Connor found a way to come back to his old form and then some on his first love.

 
Early this morning I was looking at my great-grandfather's pension records from the Civil War. I got to thinking of this song..........................
