RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West "The Big One" -- Sure...but When?

I spent a career as a first responder in SoCal and our mantra for disaster preparation to the public we served was to always be prepared for 72 hours on your own in the event of a significant disaster. Most of CA has a tremendous ability to respond to a major disaster. The reality is, though...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Public service announcement: generators

I've run a Honda Sinewave generator in a generator box and people didn't know it was running until I mentioned it. However, I would never run it when there is not ambient noise in an area where it would disturb folks. Of course, my camping usually is not in campgrounds and, if it is, there is...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Pacific Side Baja SoCal to San Carlos, Las Pintas Zona Arqueologica

My experiences with fences in baja and most of Mexico is to just make sure they are closed behind you..... And, if you run into someone tell them Cómo estás. estamos perdidos, sólo estamos de paso. Lo siento y gracias. And then just do it!

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West mold in the potable water tank overflow tube

FWIW the water district where I was a firefighter used the standard of 8 drops of household bleach/chlorine per gallon of tap water in the case of a natural disaster to make it potable. Might be fine for well water.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West New frig and battery

I never see http://sportfridge.com/home on these sites. Most likely due to price but I know a few baja guys that use them and swear on them. The ones I have seen have worked flawlessly in serious Sea of Cortez style heat and humidity. I am sure there ones with issues, though, and that is no...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Flat-bedding an ATC

My plans for next year are the purchase of a 2001ish F350 4x4 CrewCab 7.3 Superduty, put a flat bed on it so all fuels can be outside of the camper, thin profile potable and grey water tanks below it and some storage boxes for batteries, tools, safe whatever the heck else I can think of and cram...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West New ATC Ocelot Shell Buildout

Really a fine job and your extra bed scenario has been running through my head, usually late at night when I should be sleeping, and I have been envisioning something like that but with a fold up or down bed supported by the bed below it so both my kids have a spot to sleep when it's too wet or...
