It could be entirely different for your truck, but the Dodge mounts right to the bracket that you are discussing removing. I would verify that isn't the case for the Ford before you cut it off...

Jay, There is an area off of 179 just before the red rock pass area that I have camped in before... I believe it is off of Beaverhead Flat Road or something like that. I can check a map and confirm if that area would suit your needs. Kyle

Scott, The backroad (mt lemmon control road) has some sections that you could easily exceed 25 mph on and some sections that you will probably be running at a much slower rate. The whole road is 2wd and fairly smooth the last time I was there. It doesn't really get steep and somewhat slow...

GAWR is not a recomended weight, it is the MAXIMUM weight! Your front is under maximum, but your rear axle is overloaded. Not good. Thats why so many of us use 3/4T trucks even though FWC says they can be used on a 1/2T truck. Add beer, water, food, tools, etc and you are over the capacity of...

You can't believe how disappointed I was to find out transfer flow doesn't make a larger tank for my truck. Just have to limp around with the stock 35 gal tank. You could always go with the Aerotank 60 gallon unit. 1100 mile range... I DARE you to hold it that long!:thumb:

Nice article and all but I didn't care for this part: I don't readily agree with keeping some options to the "special" model only and such just to keep an elite model differentiated, seems kinda snobbish to me. If the options are physically able to be put in whatever rig then good customer...

If you're adding (or changing) a deadbolt you may want to consider the new Kwickset Smart Key locks. I recently moved to a new house and had to change all my locks and the Smart Key type worked so well I put one of their deadbolts on my FWC Falcon. I now use my house key for the camper...

Last Wednesday in camp I was standing on the settee while sliding the bed in so I could fire up the range for coffee. You guessed it I went straight through the thing blowing out the support and the front and side of the box. I know.... my leg didn't need any more trauma. I knew at some point...
