    How to Fix This?

UPDATE - talked to State Farm, I have an insurance rider for the camper so they agreed that it's covered. Two third-party companies are now involved. One is getting estimates for the cost of the repairs, the other is valuing the camper to determine if it is worth repairing. Seems rather...

    How to Fix This?

I’ve not spoken to either FWC or ATC as I discovered this just today. Will certainly contact them next week Thanks for the suggestion about contacting my insurance company. I had not thought of that and my camper is covered.

    How to Fix This?

A squirrel got into my FWC Hawk and, although the top was down, somehow managed to chew big holes in the canvas top - see attached photos. Any suggestions how to repair this? I'm at a total loss. Thanks in advance for your advice, -PJ

    Water Pump 2017 Hawk

Today I replaced the valve assembly ($27 from Amazon) and the check valve ($18 from Amazon) today and the pump now works great, better flow than I've seen recently. Not sure which part was the problem but I suspect it was the check valve as I found it stuck closed on initial disassembly. All...

    Water Pump 2017 Hawk

I'm having a similar problem with my Shurflo pump M/N 4009-101-A32 in a 2014 Hawk. It runs, spits a little water out of the faucet and then nothing. I checked the lines for leaks with a hand vacuum pump and all are good. I removed and disassembled the pump and found a stuck check valve...

    Should I Replace the Battery?

I have a 2014 Hawk with the original 12v AGM lead-acid battery that FWC installed in the camper when new. The charging system is the stock system with the battery monitor that FWC used at that time. I keep the camper plugged into shore power at all times when the camper is not in use. On a...

    Mormon Cricket Stories

We live north of Reno in Palomino Valley. Last year during the cricket invasion they were one ridgeline away from us and Pyramid Hwy was slick with guts. Looks like we won't be so lucky this year. During our walk this morning we came over a rise on the road to our home and the road was...

Does this 2008 FWC eagle seem like a decent deal?

I agree, I think it looks darn good for a 15 year old FWC. I could probably sell my 10 year Hawk for close to $20k, so this one at $12k installed is a deal.

    Heading out to Jarbidge

Unfortunately, because of the smoke and the forecasted poor weather, I'm indefinitely postponing this trip. Doesn't look like I'll have another window this fall, so probably have to wait 'till next year.

Is this 2017 FWC fleet worth the sellers firm price of $21,000?

I agree with Sage, it appears to be in pretty good shape. Is the refrigerator two-way or three-way? If two way and you don’t have access to shore power you’ll definitely want to add solar. I think it’s a fair price given current economic conditions.

Thanks for the comments and encouragement. I’ll definitely do a trip report when I return. May even try to take some pictures.

    Heading out to Jarbidge

I’m planning to travel to Jarbidge NV from Reno next week. Going via Elko, Hwy 225 and Charleston Rd. Will be fishing the Bruneau and Jarbidge rivers. This is my first trip up that way, any advice or tips?

mounting rotopax between truck cab roof and below bed section?

Second the AT Overland mounts. They look pretty slick although not cheap, $150+ and that doesn't include the Rotopax container. As to why you would need extra fuel, I never have but if you want to join one of Bob Wohler's off-road adventures, he requires 3-5 gallons of additional fuel carried...

    Following rules

I'll jump in with a different perspective, with the caveat that I've gotten myself in trouble a few times. If the no trespassing sign looks old and there are no signs of current activity or habitation, I'd enter the property. I'll look for fresh tire tracks or footprints, seeing none is a...

Keep an eye out missing couple 395 Dyer area

This is truly a sad story, but as a Nevada resident I'm disappointed to see that the family is putting some of the blame on local law enforcement. As others in this thread have noted, when you venture off road, you are responsible for your own safety and survival. I've long maintained that the...

    Dispersed Camping Around Kingman AZ?

Next week I will be driving from Reno NV to Roswell, NM. Planning to do it over two days and Kingman AZ looks like it's about half-way. Can anyone tell me if there is dispersed camping in the desert around there, ideally to the east of Kingman?

    Help me Understand Trasharoo bags

I agree with Dave, don’t understand the benefits of a Trasharoo. I also try to generate as little trash as possible and separate out the recyclables as well. I use plastic grocery bags for trash, usually from shopping trips while on the road.

    2012 Hawk resell value ?

Do a nationwide Craigslist search and also check Expedition Portal. For one data point I was at Home Depot recently with my 2014 Hawk and some guy walked up and offered $23k right there in the parking lot. Told him thanks but it’s not for sale.
