RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Using a vertical propane tank as a backup.

the auto switch sounds really good. The last few nights of camping i though i'd have to get out at 3 am or so to change the tank. I'll look for the auto switch unit.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Water container suggestions?

One time i had to fill the tank on the road. I didn't have anything so I used a 1 gallon water jug to hold the water and a 20 oz plastic soda bottle cut into a funnel to pour the water into. Now i just keep a funnel in the camper. to help make the angle better i heated the funnel and reshaped...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Using a vertical propane tank as a backup.

Would it be ok to use a std 20LB vertical propane tank on the ground, next to the camper as a backup? I have a few of these tanks and didn't want to purchase a horizontal tank. I know the vertical tanks can't be used on their side. All I would need is a hose from the vertical tank to the...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Newbie, many electical questions

I wouldn't bother with that solar system. Id go for around 150W or more. If you were to get a converter/charger i'd get a quality unit that will maintain the batteries. The converter that is in my camper will cook the batteries if left on. It isn't a charger. My solar system doesnt keep up...

i've tried two of these but cant get them to last much more than 6 -12 months. 33" tires and used to inflate all four a few times per months. i put on my own gauge and quality hose. oh well, pretty good price and much better airflow than comparably priced units.

Here is the foot switch I made. Just a momentary switch in a box. It would be better to use a "foot switch" but they were more money. To use the electric pump you turn on the pump master switch on the FWC control panel and then push the foot switch for water. When traveling just velcro the...
