RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Power Outlet

My experience with plug-in inverters is not good. I have a 200W unit that will not run on any of my outlets in the camper or the ones in the truck. I have a 400W unit hard-wired (8 AWG wire) to my camper batteries that works well. Its what i am running on now. A cigarette lighter plug just...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Truck weight and fuel mileage

GAWR is not a recomended weight, it is the MAXIMUM weight! Your front is under maximum, but your rear axle is overloaded. Not good. Thats why so many of us use 3/4T trucks even though FWC says they can be used on a 1/2T truck. Add beer, water, food, tools, etc and you are over the capacity of...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Alpine Loop - Colorado High Country - Best Dates?

I'd vote for the weekend after Labor Day also. The afternoon thunderstorms usually wind down pretty well by then. I'll be in Wisconsin over Labor Day weekend so I can't make it then.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Engel/Norcold users answer up

It sits in the aisle, cross-wise in the front. I have a shell, the full campers have a bench there with the water tank underneath. It JUST fits between the couch and left side wall. I hold it down with an old seatbelt bolted to through the walls down low at the front. I have added batteries...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Engel/Norcold users answer up

My Engle lives in the camper full time with solar panels charging the camper batteries every day. I have used the truck to charge the batteries while driving a couple of times on cloudy days. This setup has been working for 3 years now with no problems.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West The way it was

Ahh, memories... In the 90s I racked up about 260,000 miles on a 91 Chevy 1/2 ton with a fiberglas shell. A piece of plywood, some indoor/outdoor carpet, a plastic storage tub, a cooler, and a sleeping bag. I went all over the west with that thing. :D I really liked the 22-24 MPG, but getting...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Squeaky brakes

Don't worry about it My 1991 Chevy did the same thing. The first set of brakes lasted about 160,000 miles and I had another 100,000 on the second set when I sold it. My 2005 GMC does it too. My 99 Jeep doesn't, so it must be a GM thing.
