Project M Tailgate: How Do You Close Yours?

How do you close your tailgate when you're inside the camper? I've been pulling mine shut using the cable that attaches to the side of the bed, but after a few nights of this my arthritis starts telling me to find another way.

I need to hear a good new joke

A fish swims into a wall. He says, "Dam." ++++++++++ A horse walks into a bar and the bartender says, "Why the long face?" ++++++++++ A rabbi, a priest and a buddhist holy man walk into a church. The bartender says, "What is this, some kinda joke." ++++++++++ A Higgs boson walks...

Heating Options for FWC Fleet High Elevation Winter

We've used Wave propane heaters for years. Never was condensation an issue because we provided proper ventilation. Just crack two windows to allow air to enter and to exit.

    Adding a Second Battery

Wouldn't it be better to use two six volt batteries wired in series than to have two twelve volt batteries wired in parallel? The way it was explained to me was that wiring this way gave, in essence, one large twelve-volt battery, except that, since the six-volt batteries had fewer plates...

I need to hear a good new joke

A woman had twin boys. One was named Juan and the other, Amal. But she only carried one photograph! She figured, if you've seen Juan, you've seen Amal.

    Front roof lift helper

I have seen a post from someone who replaced the black "push" board with some sort of aluminum (I think it was) tubing, As I recall it had a hook on one end that was placed into some kind of eye that he had installed so that he could push and pull to lock and unlock the board. I'm sorry...

    Relocating Ford antennas for FWC

That's not gonna work. Most all of my body panels are aluminum. Gotta save weight yaknow.

    Relocating Ford antennas for FWC

I added some pix to my post, just above. Yonder37 I think that your Sirius antenna may be in a better position than mine. Where are you located?

    Relocating Ford antennas for FWC

I encountered the same problem with my diesel powered 2020 Ford F-250, SXT, but since my system uses the Waze app on my phone when it's plugged into the USB port, low on the dashboard, I only had the Sirius antenna. My installer also left the old antenna in place and added another one. I...

    CO2/ propane detector going off

If you're still under warranty, have FWC mail you a replacement. If not, just go buy one, they're not very expensive. Install by simply changing out the two wires and you're good to go. I recommend against "muting" or just disconnecting it. Al

    Easy Roof Lift Device

I have a Project M, so I don't know. I do know that if there's not enough lift, you can put something solid on the floor and then put the speaker stand on top of it. There's more than enough lift to raise the roof on the Project M.

    Easy Roof Lift Device

I purchased the Knox Gear Hand Crank Steel Speaker Stand, so I can't speak directly to your purchase. But my stand does not have any "momentary places of resistance." It's the same resistance all the way up. (Virtually none with no-load and then a constant level when it starts to raise the...

    Fleet build cooler placement

I'd suggest that you call around to some other dealers. That will give you the latest specs. Sometimes manufacturers change specs without notifying anyone.

    Bicycle Rack Recommendations

I know some folks who put a bike carrier on the front bumper. They don't get as much dust. Instead they get bugs. I'd either bring it inside the camper or cover it with a tarp. Wrap it with lots of bungees to seal it as best you can.

    storing gas under camper?

This advice appears on the Rotopax website. More than likely most people don't follow this advice, but they do so, as the saying goes, "at their own peril." If the pax are mounted so the opening is up, this is fairly easy. If not, it's a PITA, and probably one reason that people don't bother.

FWC DIY modifications & item weights advice

Lots of people don't use the water in their RV water tanks for drinking. Sometimes they don't sanitize the system as often as they should. Sometimes they're filling the tank from questionable sources. Sometimes they let it sit for longer than is recommended. In those situations, the...

    Securing Solar Panel Wires

If you decide to use Eternabond for this, or any application, I suggest that after you're done with it, that you run a bead of clear silicone around all the edges. If you don't, the edge of the adhesive will be exposed and after awhile it will show up as an unsightly black crud around the...

    FWC....Project "M"?

Has anyone here mounted an Alu-Cab 270 degree awning using the MULE brackets that mount to the jack brackets? I saw a YouTube video showing this and it looks like it might be a good way to pair these two. https://youtu.be/v9DvbsyCmZw Here's a link to the MULE mounts. (1) Mule Alu-Cab...

    Project M Campers

I realize that this thread is pretty old but thought it best to keep the Project M discussion here. I'm awaiting delivery of my M in July. Until then, I'm prepping for the major issue that arises in discussions about these campers, dust intrusion. My truck has a spray-in bed liner so that's...
