Sightings thread

And we should start including Hallmarks! :)

Sure -- lots of room under the big pop-up/glide-up-camper tent!

Kumbaya...kumbaya...

Lots of sightings, but -- so far -- no "Hey, that was me!"
huh.gif

I think there should be a big "sign" on the WTW Forum home page saying:

"Check the Sightings Thread to see if your camper-rig has been spotted!"

Yes -- in big red letters. If I could, I'd put up such a sign...but they don't give us Moderators that kind of power...

Mark and here I thought you were the "supreme ruler".That could be nice but...

Mark and here I thought you were the "supreme ruler"....

Nope, just a man of the People -- to serve the People.

Hum the word "to serve" is that a "cookbook" title?
Frank

"How to Serve Man"

You must be remembering that old Twilight Zone episode.

Boy Ski you must be almost my age.Not many know or remember that.
Frank

Yep -- I'm also old enough to get the reference....or is it not age but just the millions of hours I've spent in front of the TV watching old reruns?

You're all just young bucks, why We didn't even have a tv at home until I was in like almost through high school-and yes I am a rerun and to some a reference they want to forget! Remember a green colored picture on the tv, that's what a black and white tv looked like! Watching tv is what retirees do-gotta see what they been missing all theses years!

Meanwhile, back to the topic at hand - sightings. 10:00 AM Sunday at Heenan Lake on Highway 88. We camped at Monitor Pass this weekend and stopped at Heenan to hike around the lake. Saw WTW member K6ON (Bob) drive by while we were prepping for our hike.

Tonight about 6:45pm, northbound on US 97 about 10 miles north of Klamath Falls, OR: some model of Four Wheel Camper on some make of pickup...US make, I think; dark color.

A few daze late....but that's normal anymore....

So who was soaking at the Glenwood hot Springs pool last Sunday? Grey truck....maybe a Tundra....lifter shocks mounted on front of camper.... was zippin by on the freeway headin' to GJ and just caught a glimpse....

.Through Minnesota saw several FWCs.

One of those was me!

And I spotted you!

I was shocked to recognize your rig as you came into Grand Marais, yes that was me waving like a lunatic. I would have turned around and run you down but we were just leaving town and needed to put some miles behind us.

Your rig looked great with the canoe on top. Hope you had a nice time along the lake.

Sorry I didn't spot you Ted, would have stopped and said Hi. Was on my way to Eastern Sierra's for Fall colors. Only saw one other FWC, Sunday, noonish, NB on 395. On white pickup. I just had time to wave...

Hardly ever see FWC/ATC campers in my neck of the woods, but today I saw two. One was an ATC, I think, on a white truck with a custom front bumper with brush guard - it may have been a Dodge, but I didn't get a close look. They were set up in a hunter's camp up by James Ridge in the Lincoln NF.

The other was briefly seen in Cloudcroft. It looked like a FWC Hawk, on a dark blue Ford - an F-150, I believe. The camper had the corner jacks mounted.

Anybody we know?

At the Bishop, CA, Paiute gas station/casino today about 2pm:
An FWC Fleet on a Toyota.
I saw the driver and he saw me...
but without a WTW secret handsign/gangsign there was no way for us to safely recognize/acknowledge each other.

We need a WtW gang sign that we can throw out.

Maybe a double handed three finger wave? (W :) W)

Would a single hand three finger wave work if we are driving? (W)

:p

I'd prefer a single-hand signing...but having lived in small-town Oregon for the past 34 years, I'm not familiar with proper gang-sign-throwing protocol. Would I face the back of my three fingers towards the recipient or the palm-side?
