A pretty morning out there, 60° heading for 96°.

Wind and fog are the current conditions here at Cape Blanco on the southern Oregon coast.


Can't even see the lighthouse, hidden by the blowing fog, upper right.
 
Tomorrow's end of [meteorological] summer looks to be still full-on summer...

That looks so similar to our forecast, extremely hot. I'll ask the same question.
 
We here in New England are in drought. 14" below normal. The leaves have been turning brown and for the first time ever in my life the ground is covered in brown dead leaves in August. This does not portend well for fall colors this year for all the leaf peepers.
 
By this time next week the temperatures here should be nice and normal.

With overnight lows in the 40s, I may still leave windows open overnight, but no window fan.
 
We are looking forward to the end of this endless summer in Portland. The last significant rain was June 16th:

And too many hot 90+ days for our so-called pacific northwest temperate climate:
