Yup, there are " others " of us out here. I cant zip up my vinal windows when it's cold, or they will rip apart (seperate) from the canvas. If it's warm out, they will zip up ok, but are getting pretty tight. My screening is getting pretty worn too. Iv'e duct taped a few spots that have...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Air Bags for 2004 Tacoma

I did a similer fix on my 2004 tacoma. Straightened it out and boxed it in with steel plate. Then welded on the brackets for the airbags instead of bolting.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West is tailgate really necessary to support 16" overhang?

I havn't had any issues with the overhang on mine. It is a hassle getting the spare down, but it can be done if you can crawl under there and use something shorter in the slot to lower it. I am making a tool to drop the tire easier. A bar with a swivel inline and a slotted end.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West What to do with the space between camper & truck-bed walls?

I slide logs, and small chunks of firewood along the space between the bed and camper. On fishing trips I store the rods along one side.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Suspension Question

Airbags along with HD Bilsteins work well for me. They have help up for tons of miles both on and off road. I only put the camper on for trips, and the truck is a daily driver for the family, so I wanted stock feeling ride when camper is off. I beefed up the frame (boxed in) along the vunerable...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Bad for Bats

I heard about this too when I was at Carlsbad Caverns NM last month. They too were asking that you not enter the Caverns if you had been to other caves with the same shoes, clothes, backpacks, gear, etc. It seems that bats are an important part of the food chain too.

Last weekend, my family and I headed out the 10 east toward the Salton Sea. Our destination was the 2012 Desert Rendezvous, an event put on by some folks over at Expedition portal. We headed out a day early, so we could do a little exploring, as I had never been this part of the desert. The...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Tech Tip: Auto-Relighter for Propane Refrigerators

I had the problem of the pilot goin out when driving on the highway. My solution was to wedge a pie tin in there in front of the louvered door to block some air. Id take a picture but you get the idea. Works great and free. I do try to remember to turn off the fridge and relight it after...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Looking for a door latch

Mine was broken just like that so I took it off. I still have both pieces. I thought about cutting one out of sheet metal, but I just ended up taking it off and doing without one, it still latches. I should make one soon because the aluminum is getting pretty beat up in that area from the latch...
