RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Kodiak by Vanguard

Can anyone tell me about this motorhome? I replaced my Ranger and Eagle with this. I can only find a few posts. I know it was built in Canada and is a more premium coach. I have a 22 foot Kodiak with slide on a ford 450 chassis and a v10. Tryed to attach pic but file is to big. Thanks

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Roll with the punches

I leave my camper on 90% of the time along with the jacks. I feel that the jacks sticking out keep other vehicles away from mine. Would show you a picture but haven't figured out how to post a pic on this site. The old guy I bought if from did the same thing. Just before I bought it he hit...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Total Noobs, doing it all wrong

I have an older Eagle. A couple of thoughts. I fulltimed with a 40ft bus conversion with a Ranger pickup and Eagle as a tow rig. I heated the bus with a catalitic heater though I had 2 furnaces. The Eagle has a furnace and I like it best in the limited space of the Eagle. I don't have to...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West New Truck thoughts for 2011 Eagle

Chevy Vega was consumer report's car of the year. One year GE and Hotpoint were compared and Hotpoint was several levels down from GE. They were exactly alike, built in the same factory and warehoused together.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Leave Tailgate On or Off?

I have always left mine on. Easy to get out of camper because you have a large porch with bed liner material it is not slippery. The step down is to a step attached to the 2" receiver. I tow a Geo Tracker with it and have also used a modified bike rack. The original reason to keep the tailgate...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Hi lift jacks

Have used hi lift jack for years. Bottle jacks don't work most of the time for off road situations. Mostly used with single purpose off road rigs. Used to change tires, lift and stuff rocks, and once for pulling damaged and bent body parts out of the way of tires. I have not used it with the...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Great deal on battery

When paralleling batteries they will settle to the voltage of the weaker of the two. If the size is the same then they will work OK but not ideal. That being said there are only 2 or 3 manufactures of batteries and they private label all the brands.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Who lives out of their camper?

We stayed full time in ours for a month in the everglades. I have lived on the road full time for 10 years but in a large bus conversion.. I have known of people living out of far less than a camper. I met a guy who lived in his 2 door ford focus. he took out the front passenger seat. His...

We are close to ordering a new Hawk for our Tundra. My husband and I are not in 100% agreement on options and would appreciate some opinions. Weight is the main factor for us, but we want some conveniences. We are in agreement on the fridge, heater, LED upgrade, extra battery, awning...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Recieved my solar panel today

Here is how I attached my PV panel to the roof with only two through the roof screws. I used 2 inch aluminum angle stock to cut two brackets I could attach to the front roof rack bar with hose clamps. I drilled two holes in the side of the front of the PV panel (and one in the rear). The PV...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Fantastic fan

Just a little twist. I installed a vent cover over the fantastic fan. Good; Can leave the vent open in hot climates. Keeps the camper cooler in hot weather. Cna leave it and not worry about rain. Wet weather and you can leave the fan cracked a little to dry out...

I am definetely the minority here. And I guess not cool. I leave my jacks on all the time because as a full time rver I don't have a homebase to set the camper down. I pull the truck and camper behind a 40 ft rv. When I get to say my daughter's and need the truck to haul I can take the...
