RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Toyota Tacoma or Tundra for Smaller FWC?

I have and Eagle shell on a 2009 Tacoma. If your going with the smaller FWC such as Eagle, Fleet then you will need to stay with a smaller truck, not a full size truck as some have mentioned. I would consider an older style Tundra to be a medium size at the most. Tacoma will do fine with the...

You will need the lift assist struts. I'm 60 yr. old male with a shoulder injury also and added a 23# solar panel to my roof. Granted I could lift it without the assist but they sure do make it easier. Ron

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Bending in lift panel hinge

Like I said just a thought. Thinking that some may be pushing on the panel itself on putting too much stress on the hinge. Only other possibility I too can think of is bad hinge, as in not properly mounted to the panel. Ron

I believe it is mostly user error, get the roof all the way up before you start pushing on the panel. Just a thought. Ron
