RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Composite lift panel cracks?

If I remember correctly, those are wrinkle lines from the plastic sheet that has the release material on it when the composite is poured into the form. We pointed these out very early during the switch to these panels and the company did their best to try and prevent it.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Venting for battery

Vent through the "floor pack" the lower wood walls. There isn't any framing there, it's just plywood. The front wall and rear walls of the camper are aluminum frame the entire height. The side walls of the camper are only aluminum frame up from the top of the "floor pack."

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Full time FWC'ers give Fwc thumbs up after 10 months

That crack above the rear door is typical of a broken frame probably due to a poor weld at a joint nearby. You should get that checked out.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Bending in lift panel hinge

It was a new composite panel. This was a real life situation, granted it was still operator error, but this guy was still able to create the amount of force needed to break the composite panel. If used correctly you will never have a problem, but to state that it is "virtually impossible to...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Bending in lift panel hinge

I call BS on this statement. I personally know of one that snapped as it was being raised. This person was pushing entirely on the locking bar instead of the roof push panel. If I had to guess what was wrong I would say that the hinge slot was cut too deep and left the attaching portion too...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Why Can't The FWC Owners Get This Information ?

In my time with FWC I was responsible for documenting each and every camper. I created the 3D drawings for every existing model and created plenty of new models as well. As the documentation went on I began to see where we could add to or remove frame components. I was also able to see where...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Toyota Tacoma Double Cab Shortbed

FWC won't do the internal tie downs for the front, so they require you to have the external tie downs on the front and internals on the rear only. Rocky Mountain FWC has provided an aftermarket bracket and service that changes the front external tie downs to internal.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Bend in black roof panels

Are you lifting the roof by pushing up on the board that is mounted to the ceiling? Or are you pushing on the handle that is attached to the lift panels? (watch this video, at 1:20, and see how NOT to lift the roof!) That handle should only be used to lock the panels in place after the roof...

Black is the color of the material as is it is poured. Any different color would require painting. Extra step = extra $.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Advantages of front dinette seating

Shell models still have the large window on the passenger side no matter what the seating configuration is that you choose. So you could potentially order a front dinette with large window on both the passenger and driver side, depending upon what other options you choose, and still have a...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Advantages of front dinette seating

Matt, The Front Dinette Shell option has only been available for about six months now, hence the reason you may have seen mostly side dinette options. One advantage to the front dinette is that it gives you a larger second bed for the times when you may want to stealth camp.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Wire shorts at the front lift panel

Not a customer, yet(but soon!), but am curious if you guys have switched to the more flexible automotive type wire yet? No change in the wire type, but we have changed the routing of the wire so that is not repeatedly bent. We are confident that this is a sound solution.
