    Thermal Liner Cleaning

Thanks, we keep ours in full-time too, but a recent long (moist) trip to New England and Nova Scotia has dirtied it and it may have a little mold so we wanted to treat that. Hand-washing and I suspect that the airdry is key. Gracias.

    Thermal Liner Cleaning

Anyone have experience with removing the thermal liner (Arctic Pack) to clean it. We are wondering about shrinking issues in this process. Thanks for any insight ya'll might have.

Mounting ARB awning on 2018 FWC Hawk (12 steps)

I followed RiverRat's "12 step" program for mounting my ARB 8' Awning and it has worked very well. I did have to move the roof latch as my rig was not "awning ready."

    Canadian Maritimes

I've followed this thread for a bit. What a timely topic as we have been intend to do a trip up through the maritimes late summer / fall. We have not started the planning process in earnest but this is a great place to start. Most of the posts in this thread are focused on summertime travel...

    Favorite Apps?

Try iNaturalist for the natural history identification app. Pretty fun and gets one close if not always 100% accurate. I've been having fun with it.

    Rear Steps

We use the Brophy scissor steps and find them very easy. We got the steel ones because of cost, and they can be heavy, but not bad. They fit nicely on the floor just inside the door. They are the first thing out and last thing in when unloading or loading. Work great for us.

Anyone bother fixing hail dents in their roof?

Definitely added mine to the "pin striping" category. The divots catch a bit extra dust, but otherwise seem inconsequential.

Flush Mount Glass Top Stove vs. regular stove

We are completely happy with our flush mount. No loosening problems. I probably wouldn't have spent the extra $$ if I had ordered mine, but since we are not the original owners, not our choice. I'm glad the original purchaser included them. In our Hawk, we find them especially useful as the...

What is my Trimetric telling me?

Your voltage is going to be highly variable depending upon the level of power you are drawing from the battery or putting into it. The percentage full is really an indication of the amp-hour capacity. That is, how much energy is in the battery. Battery capacity is measured in amp-hours while...

I need to hear a good new joke

Murphy showed up at Mass one Sunday & the priest nearly fell down when he saw him. He'd never been to church in his life. After Mass, the priest caught up with him & said, "Murphy, I am so glad ya decided to come to Mass. What made ya come?" Murphy said, "I got to be honest with you Father. A...

    Hawk - 2006 Tundra Dcab

My '06 Tundra carries my 2012 Hawk just fine. Its a bit higher over bed rails and cab than some fits, and is tight in the bed, but works great for us.

    Deadbolt recall notice

Mine also came back in September when I was out of town. Just got around to installing them a couple days ago. Experience is exactly like cfike. Nevertheless it went smoothly and they seem to work fine. Will probably still stick to the big deadbolt primarily however.

I need to hear a good new joke

I was reading an article last night about fathers and sons, and memories came flooding back of the time I took my son out for his first drink. Off we went to our local bar, which was only a few blocks from the house. I got him a Miller Genuine. He didn't like it, so I drank it. Then I got...

    Deadbolt recall notice

I also have an affected deadbolt set, and applied for a new set via the internet since I did not get a recall as I'm a second owner of my 2012 Hawk. No word or receipt of the replacements yet either. Gave up using them and only use the large deadbolt.

    Vernal Equinox 2014 - Springtime!

A true harbinger of spring: The rate of WTW posts is dropping rapidly. Folks must all be out using their recent mods and are back to the real adventures rather the the virtual WTW ones. Happy Trails.

Question of clearance between Fleet & Tacoma Access Cab rooftop

All these approaches sound logical, but I suspect if it were me, I'd put the camper in the truck and then measure it. Wouldn't have to anchor it, just measure and take it off again. Could probably do that in the time it takes to read and write this thread. Just a thought.

Best cell phone carrier for "wandering"?

Gotta say, we are Verizon users, but part of the beauty of (and reason for) the camping game is to escape the demands of the cellular, interconnected world for a short while.

New FWC Hawk Options - Now vs Later?

I think you'll really like the flush mount appliances. Your wife is on to something. That is something we probably would not have ordered (kinda expensive) but since they came with our used Hawk we love 'em. They add a lot of extra counter top when one or the other is not in use and allow for...

    Survey

2006 Tundra with 4.7L V8. Doesn't seem to have any problems with the Hawk aboard except perhaps with the fuel economy as others mention. So much better than my old '91 Toy PU (pre-Tacoma) with the 3.0 V6. No complaints here.

    The new coffee thread

Gotta admit, we like our fresh ground coffee, but I've NEVER tasted all this. What it all really "boils" down to is what'll get you going in the morning. For some, the ritual, for some the flavor, for some it's just the plain ol' caffeine. Whatever way works for your -- Enjoy, just don;t...
